On Tuesday our entire class (all 9 of us) took a private Harry Potter walking tour. It was so much fun. We saw where many of the scenes from the films were taped. We also made it Platform 9 3/4 which is not in fact in Kings Cross Station. They have moved it outside due to the massive amounts of construction being done.
This is the outside of the Imperial War Museum. We went for class and my flat mates and I ended up staying until they closed. It was really interesting and informative. They had a large Holocaust exhibit inside that took the bulk of our time to go through, but was completely worth the time.
This is the London Eye from the other side of the river. Since Thursday the weather has been beautiful in London. Sunny, breezy, and warm. Perfect! I have been spending a lot of time out doors and in the parks.
We visited the Florence Nightingale Museum for class on Thursday and our audio guides were stethoscopes. We all found this amazing at first until you put them on and feel like they are trying to plunge themselves into your brain.
View of Parliament from the other side of the Thames!
Phone booth photo with Big Ben in the background! There are more pictures that I will post later of five us crammed in this phone booth.
We did the London Film Museum on Thursday as well because of the Harry Potter exhibit they have going on. We saw some of the original costumes that Harry and Ron wore in the movie as well as books that were used for the classes. This is in the Charley Chaplin exhibit! I watched a shorts of his films that they had running! SO COOL!
As much as I wanted to get on this bike I don't think it would have held up. It was not stable at all and the other issue was not knowing how to climb on!
Friday morning I got up and went to Richmond where Lonnie lived while he was in London. I loved this little town. It was quite and there were so many cute little shops and restaurants. The parks were another upside to living in Richmond!
Here is the building Lonnie lived in while in London. I am not sure which door was his. I think he said it was the one right above the word 'London' in this little paragraph!
Another shot of Richmond. I was wondering the streets at this point so I am not exactly sure where this is, but the townhouses had the prettiest flowers in front their homes!
Friday night I went with my flat mate Chelsea to see Wicked! I had such great time. This was my first time seeing it and I was not disappointed. The costumes, singing, and acting were all amazing! I would definitely go see this one again!
Sorry it has taken me so long to update the blog! My time in London is quickly coming to an end. I have three days left and so much to do. I stayed in London this weekend and soaked up the gorgeous weather. We have been so lucky! This weekend was super busy. As listed above I went to Richmond, which was so cute and I can see why people who work in London want to live further out. It was so relaxing. I saw two plays this Wicked and Phantom of the Opera. Both equally amazing. I have always had a fondness for Phantom of the Opera and enjoyed it so much in London. Wicked was amazing and everything I thought it would and more. I also went to the National Portrait Gallery and saw the exhibition called Glamour of the Gods. Today my flat mate and I went to the Churchill War Rooms. It is in a bunker right outside of St. James Park and they have set up with the actual furniture that would have been there when Churchill was there. We also finally had afternoon tea and it was lovely! Finally, I have been spending a lot of time in the parks. Like I said the weather has been so perfect that I have wanted to enjoy it while I can! Well I hope everyone is doing well!
Love and Miss you all!
